Opportunity to Exhibit and Sell Your Artwork
Due to a last-minute cancellation, the GAA has secured a booth at the upcoming Montrose Arts and Crafts Festival. The dates are Saturday, June 6th and Sunday, June 7th. There is no charge for us to participate. Details, including sign-up procedures and shift scheduling, will be shared at our May meeting.

The Art and Science of Light and Color
Have you ever wondered what light and color are, really? How many colors can humans see? Does everyone see light and color in the same way?
Why does a photo of a painting have different colors than the original, and why is a printed image so different from one viewed on a screen? How does electric lighting affect the colors seen in a studio or in a gallery, and why does the type of light bulb matter? What is paint opacity?
Get answers to these questions (and many more!) with this month's demonstrator, Steve Mills, who is both an artist and a scientist. Steve has an MS degree in optical physics, and worked for 25 years on satellite cameras, including the James Webb Space Telescope. He is also an artist, specializing in watercolor and colored pencil. He takes inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci, who was also equal parts artist and scientist.
Don't forget to bring a snack to share, and a new piece of art for the mini-show!
