Autry Block Party - Exhibit and Market Your Work
The GAA has been invited to participate in the upcoming Block Party at the Autry Museum of the American West. This is an annual event at the Autry, and includes a carnival on the lawn, family activities, and special museum tours. We will be provided with a booth at the event. This year’s theme is “Love Letters to Los Angeles.” You can learn more about the event here.
The Party will be held on Saturday, September 26th, from 7 a.m. (set up time) to 5:00 p.m. We will be exhibiting and selling our theme-related artwork, and offering attendees the chance to play with paints themselves.
Although this is a paid event, there is no charge for us to participate. Members who volunteer at our booth will be the first to receive one of the 20 complimentary tickets to the event gifted by the Autry to the GAA.
Details, including sign-up procedures and shift scheduling, will be provided at our Wednesday, September 9th meeting. Remember—our meeting day has changed from Thursday to Wednesday!
This opportunity is open to GAA members only.
Glendale High School graduate Sophie Paloulian, who will be attending The New School Parsons School of Design in New York this fall, was the winner off this year’s GAA scholarship. Diane and Steve presented her with the award.

The GAA has been contacted by The Makery in Los Angeles, asking for contributions of art supplies, which they will provide to fire victims. Please click here for details.
Losing all the tools that allow for creative expression is another tragedy for the people who need this most right now. Please be generous--and please pass the information along to family or friends who might have some spare items to share.
